Yeah, it's in the Doctrine and Covenants. I can't remember exactly where. I'm constantly shocked at the claims made by the global warming crowd. The basic mentality is that mankind is a plague on the Earth, instead of the stewards of the Earth. I'm perfectly happy to be a wise steward. But I don't consider myself a plague. BTW, if meat is murder, so is salad. A plant is a living creature, after all. They've even proven that plants feel pain. They've shown that plants have elevated reactions when someone enters the room who had previously destroyed a plant in their presence. Plants are living things too! We should stop eating plants!

You have to be careful, though, Coco; the fruit has to fall off the tree on its own before you can eat it. Otherwise you're harming the tree. Excuse me while I go off and think up some combination of scriptures and faulty reasoning to demonstrate that if you're mormon you must be a fruitarian or you're not really living the Word of Wisdom.

It's also a sign of the last days... would be interesting if this were to get a lot of traction and government got involved in banning meat production... and as for the scripture, go to scriptures.lds.org and do a websearch for "Shakers"... that's how I remember where that scripture is... The Shakers were a religion that believed that the Messiah had already returned in the form of a woman, and they had peculiar practices including celibacy as more virtuous than marriage(first scripture openly extolling that marriage is ordained for man) and the veg-head thing...

See, the WoW is just a "preparatory" law, sort of like the law of tithing leads to the law of consecration. We won't be fruitarians until the Millenium really, so no need to panic just yet.
