THought this one was funny, and there're a fair number of OSC fans, from the other side of the river hanging out here... I'd post a link over there, but the comic sometimes uses "bad language" and I think it's against their charter to post links to pages that could have links to pages or something... though this particular page is clean... :) Meh... I'll probably still try posting it to the Fortress... :)
I imagine this being the story of Cat and his first love... that he didn't marry...

None of the womens I've ever loved have even appreciated OSC. Not even Poncho. Of course, a couple of my sisters have read one or two of his books I think... but, that is different (no Jason it ain't no Dueling Banjos backwoods I'm my own grandpa since I married my sister moment ).
I liked how the comic started out like some sort of dime-store detective novel thing, but it ended kind a weak. Not enough Bogart / Casablanca in the end...

Neither does Polly... at least not most of it. Fantasy I like, depending on the theme... (Chronicles... etc...) But true Sci Fi is hubby's domain... He has ruined our boys... but then they also will watch musicals with their mom... Daughter could sing "Bye Bye Baby" almost before she could do anything else.
Works for MOI!!!!!!! What, ya'll don't jump around and burst into song in your every day life???
I love those films from the 40s, 50s and 60s... My hubby has a clef chin... just like Cary Grant! (Except hubby is slightly BETTER looking than Cary was...)
I was excited when I found out that DH liked sci-fi and fantasy, because I did too. Then we got married and found out we only like two authors in common (OSC and Anne McCaffrey). I don't like his military sci-fi (David Weber, Harry Turtledove), and he doesn't like my less militaristic sci-fi (Diane Duane, Star Trek novels). It's like bait and switch. Maybe we should have dated longer. You think you know someone . . .
On the plus side, we never want to read the same book at the same time.
Polly washes Jason's mouth out with SOAP... The horrible impersonations in the form of the Marilyn wannabes... simply do NOT wash young man! (Or any other truly legendary actor...) If your going to watch someone... watch THEM... That was Marilyn, true and true!!!
