Has anyone heard of the Duggar family? They have 16 children (in 17 years with two sets of twins for the technically-minded). There was a show on TLC on them over the weekend. I was completely in awe. The parents look around 38-39-ish and they are just as laid-back and happy and pleasant as can be. And the cute little mom with her huge Arkansas mullet is just the sweetest thing you ever did see. The kids are well-behaved, they all play musical instruments... I mean, it was really making me feel like a loser. The dad's name is Jim Bob, for crying out loud.

Come on. Don't kid yourself that the parents are always laid back and relaxed. Obviously they are going to show the best side of things for a television program.
Dude. They read the scriptures together as a family every day at 9pm. Cool, huh? She homeschools, too. I think you'd almost have to with that many kids.

Yeah, I saw a special about them on TLC see too. Although I'm impressed with some of the things they've done and manage to do, I agree with Bok. NOBODY is that perfect. And if they are, then there's something wrong with them.
I didn't see the show but was surprised when I first read she home schoools. I wonder how her body's health has held up w/all all those pregnancies.
There was a couple I read about who married (it may have been via online) and adopted numerous kids w/severe disabilities (well over a dozen I think). The husband had some type of disability, I forget what he had but he used a wheelchair, I'm not sure how much help he could physically provide to the kids. As they adopted the kids, they received a lot of state aide to care for them. We are not to judge but it seemed like a lot to me.
