So after church on Sunday I was sitting in the scout room waiting for the Elder's Quorum president to show up for our presidency meeting and I start talking to the 2nd counsellor who is a big Halo fan to see if he had pre-ordered Halo 3 yet which has already pre-sold over 1 million copies and set to do better than any Hollywood film ever.  He had and we talked about our excitement over the new release (of which I have not pre-ordered).  So then I whip out a copy of XBox magazine that my brother in law who is a single college graduate with oodles of time and cash loaned me at church that day and we were eyeing the pics that have been released of the game.  As we are talking the cub master came in and overheard us and told us how he was looking forward to it.  Then a member of the Bishopric who has daughters in highschool came by and he is a major fan and he and his girls play and he can't wait.  The elder's quorum president overheard all this and he has played the game a few times so next thing I know he's decided to have an Elder's Quorum activity for a massive 16 on 16 tournament for Halo 3 multiplayer with 4 X Box 360s, 2 large screen high def TVs, 2 projectors, pizza, pool party, etc after the new game comes out.  Sorry guys, no D&D.  I've never heard of an Elder's quorum activity like this but the excitement level is there and it looks like it will be well attended.  Now we just have to wait until after conference for the gathering of huge Halo nerds to actually take place.
