no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing... the truth of God will go forth till it has penetrated every website, sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished and the great Jehovah shall say the work is done
We won't see it in vehicles in our lifetime... or if we do, not for a couple decades. Radical innovation in technology used within vehicles takes years to actually put into production.
What I would like to see is hydrogen powered vehicles. The technology already exists, but it would require radical change to support infrastructure and production facilities. There is not the will by those who control those business entities to invest the capital though...

It really depends upon how contained the technology is.. All it takes is one company to build an engine, and suddenly you'll have a bidding war on who gets the rights to put it in their car...

Ray, is it outside the realm of possibility? Not really.

intriguing...I'd like to see the thermodynamic cycle so I could better understand it, but it sounds like using the multi-valve system, they don't have to put in as much heat to get the work output. I'm not sure that I actually would understand the valves though, as we mostly studied pistons.
About Hydrogen cars: the hard thing is that so many people would lose jobs if we completely switched to hydrogen. I'm sure there would be a way to accommodate, but it'll take time and lots of transition: like the switch from leaded to octane fuel.
