Thank you Polly for sharing information on your situation. In the situation of the sister in the family I home teach it has been difficult to get much ward response due to the family being inactive for a number of years. They also live in another town on the edge of the ward boundaries. My wife happens to be their visiting teacher but she is so pregnant that she isn't much help right now either and her partner doesn't do visiting teaching. The family is fortunate in that they are currently living with the husbands parents and the wifes parents live only about 40 minutes away so they do get a lot of family support. To complicate matters even further, their three year old has some of his own health issues and has been in and out of the children's hospitals with multiple surgeries himself. Both parents are still attending Junior College. I've been in contact with the husband getting updates on how the family is doing. Haven't been able to make many personal visits because the wife is gone so often to a major university hospital three hours away. She is suffering from renal problems as a result of the Lupus.
Everytime I ask him or his mom if they need anything they won't tell me if they need anything which drives me crazy. Other than a Priesthood blessing now and then they have really never asked anything from me in all the years I have been the home teacher first for the parents and now for both families. I just worry that there is something I should be doing that I don't know about and that's what bothers me. I appreciate your info. I'll have to think about it and see what comes up.
