Certain Haircuts banned in Iran...

Sounds like things are under control in Tehran! Phew! Now if only our own Aaronic Priesthood knew about this, they'd be getting shorter haircuts in a giffy, just to rebel. :)

You can't ban every style seen in the west, simply because people in the west wear their hair in every way imaginable. They probably mean the most popular styles. Still, I'd like for them to show me in the Koran where it says they should eschew western styles.

Barbershops in America apply makeup? Wow, I've really been missing out since I go to a female hair stylist!

I wonder if those early Ed Sullivan Beatle's Haircuts would pass muster?

Nothing new.  When I worked in Saudi in the late '70's, the religious police, which were seperate from the regular cops, sometimes arrested Western men with long hair and cut it off.

Son2 is starting to look like one of the Beatles...  We don't fight the hair battle... Our Bishop is okay with it, as long as it is reasonable...  Ties are a point of compromise.  He wears one to bless the sacrament in, but it usually comes off before church is over...  I have learned with all my kids that I have to pick my battles.  Son2 never has to be "gotten up" for seminary... he goes every morning and he keeps me on time, thruth told.  He doesn't skip out of YM activities and he is almost done with his DTG... oh and he is about done witt his Eagle too... He just wants his hair longer right now...

There are a whole lot of other things that he accepts without a struggle as well...  Letting him choose his hair length just seem a silly thing to fight about to me... his dad gives him a hard time sometimes, which is funny cause hubby's hair was longer than Son2's, when I met him...  Still, I am always glad when Son2 gets bored with it and decides to go REALLY short for a while... which is about every six to eight months or so... it's really curly and thick so it is a lot of work to get it to look like the "in style", (which is straight and just below the ears... just like the Beatles used to wear, actually...) and he gets tired of styling it...

I guess I shouldn't let him travel to that part of the world though...
