Citibank Customer Service

Here is a copy and paste I received today from a friend who wrote:

" This is a story about Citibank customer service.  I have it on good authority the following accurately reports the conversation.  A lady died this past January, and Citibank billed her for February and March for their annual service charges on her credit card, and added late fees and interest on the monthly charge. The balance had been $0.00, now was somewhere around $60.00.    A family member placed a call to Citibank.  Here is the exchange.      FYI *****"

here goes:

>*Citibank:* "The account was never closed and the late fees and charges
>still apply."

That's great... unfortunately IF that is true... you really have to wonder about the mentality!  blankstare.gif

BTW, even though there are stupid call center workers, often when you run into a frustrating situation it's the result of a stupid policy, not a stupid phone answerer. Even if the person answering the phone knows better, they may not want to buck the policy. It doesn't take too many bad call reviews to get fired.

Funny stuff!  I don't think it's true though.  I took care of my dad's things after he died.  Credit cards, bank accounts, memberships, mortgage - within minutes, they all had had me on the phone with their "the guy is dead now" people.

I guess it is possible that neither moron #1, nor his moronic supervisor, were trained enough to know how to transfer someone to the right people...
