Conservative Judaism Dropping Principles for Popularity.

Most of the time I agree with Michael Medved (I listen to his show, and read his articles often) This issue seems to really bother him.

Interestingly the LDS church is mentioned in his article, as what he feels is a counterexample to what these people are doing.

And it isn't just conservative Judaism either. You can see this with other religions as well, and the US Episcopal Church will probably schism from the Anglican communion over this stuff.

I am glad to know that people of all faiths are concerned about this.

Sad but it's a numbers game for most religions these days. Without tithing they have to rely on the generosity of their congregations to pay the bills and the clergy who are full time and paid. If they don't get the bodies in the seats then they don't even have the potential to get the offering plate filled. Mistakenly, though they think that people are looking for looser rules in their religion which many do. But many, many people are also looking for real morals and a firm foundation to counteract the changing tides and currents of the world. People are looking for places with strong morals to raise families. You will see more and more religions giving up their core beliefs in order to appease the world as we get closer to the second coming. I am very thankful that the True Church will not be one of those.
