BTW, do you know the origin of the term "hooker"? One of the British generals fighting against us in the revolutionary war was a General Hooker. He apparently had a lot of young, single ladies in his entourage. When people would ask who the girls were, they'd say, "Oh, they're Hooker's."
The term stuck, and so now hooker is both a profession and a last name.
I knew a girl in college whose last name was Hooker. I felt sorry for her.

I got that story from Mr. Bruce, my history teacher in college. He had a masters degree in US History. He bragged to the people reviewing his masters thesis that they could ask him anything at all about US History and he'd be able to answer it. So a reviewer asked him a question that stumped him; "What's the Federal Ratio?"
