Gardening

Farmer Brown is hoeing his garden to keep down the weeds.  It is a beautiful day so he is enjoying the scene around him and not paying attention.  Before he knows it he has missed a weed and cut Mrs. Carrot in half.  There she is on the ground in two pieces... Beside herself.

Farmer Brown is shocked, but Mr. Carrot is even worse.  He goes into hysterics.  He is crying and moaning.  Farmer Brown tries to calm him down, and assures him they will take Mrs. Carrot to the Hospital and try to save her.
The next scene finds them in the waiting room of the hospital.  Farmer Brown is in a chair with a forlorn look on his face, drumming his fingers nervously on the arm of the chair.  Mr. Carrot is very concerned and pacing back and forth.  You might stay he was "stalking" the floor.
The doctor comes in and asks, "Which one of you is Mr. Carrot?"  Mr. Carrot held up a green leaf to identify himself.
The Doctor says, "Maybe you better sit down before I give you the news."
"Oh, No" says Mr. Carrot.  "She's gone isn't she?"
"Not at all.  The operation was a success.  She is sewn back together and will survive.

"However, Mr. Carrot....
She will be a vegetable for the rest of her life."

My kids will like this joke... though they won't understand it.
