Detroit Suburb Fights Hooters but Winds up With Two

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,249562,00.html

This is very close to my neck of the woods...  I used to have to drive by the "old" location twice a day on the way to and from the office (until my office location changed)... Now, if I get off the freeway on the main road that leads up to my city, I have to sit at a light right next to the other.  And it is an eyesore.  The location was an eyesore when it was a different bar before.  It is at the corner of an intersection between two major roads, just right past the exit off I-75, so it is not like you can avoid seeing it, because the building is within 15 - 20 feet of the roads.  It is near the location where Kmart Corporation used to have their corporate headquarters, so you get the idea of what sort of area it is... upscale...

The "old" location is right next to a liquor store... and I had co-workers (ahem, men of course) who would frequent it after work or on "special" occasions.

No, of course, there is absolutely nothing unseemly about the place called after the flying nocturnal hunters that say "hoo"... there isn't anything to the stories of waitresses wearing lite clothing or anything that would reveal parts of the bees that say boo...  rolleyes

From the article:

Critics are concerned that the restaurants' scantily clad servers don't fit the image the city seeks to project in its Big Beaver commercial district.

Must...not...go...there...

Somebody's gotta send that to Leno.

Bubba, y'all needs to gets yer mind outta da gutter...  (Of course, I didn't even notice that in the article or would have even put the two together despite having lived in the area for nearly 9 years.)

The particular road is called 16 Mile Road in the municipalities east and west of Troy...  But, for about 8 miles, it is Big Beaver and is the central portion of the corporate business area and major shopping / commercial areas for the city...
